Improved Readiness and Climate

Sexual assault or harassment ina unit is exceptionally disruptive and often divides the entire organization into battle lines supporting one person or the other. Servicemembers frequently believe the chain of command is at fault for prosecuting or not prosecuting the alleged offender--this discord harms unit readiness.

The program brings issues into the open in a non-hostile environment while providing education and confidence development. It allows the junior female servicemembers to make connections and open up without fear of reprisal.

In this forum, senior female leaders can gather information from the junior female servicemembers to share trends with the commanders.  This is another avenue for commanders to understand the command climate and a venue to develop trust with the service members.

 Provides women with confidence and development tools to establish and enforce boundaries, significantly reducing the 'He said/She said' harassment and support scenarios.

Assigned mentors assist junior female service members with confronting inappropriate senior/subordinate sexual harassment.

It avoids the cliche, "familiarity breeds contempt," because the facilitators and mentors are not part of the chain of command.

Mentors assist service members to develop a plan to communicate problems effectively to their chain of command if they cannot resolve an issue independently.
